or filled with chemicals you can’t pronounce.

Some of the best ingredients for glowing skin and shiny hair are already in your pantry and fridge!
Today, I’m sharing a few of my favorite DIY self-care recipes — safe, nourishing, and easy to make. These recipes are part of my DIY Self-Care Guidebook, where I show you how to create spa-worthy treatments at home using natural, wholesome ingredients.
Nourishing Hair Masks
For Dry, Frizzy Hair
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp honey
How to use: Mash banana until smooth, mix with coconut oil and honey, apply from mid-length to ends. Leave for 20–30 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.
Why it works: Bananas are rich in potassium and vitamins that restore shine, while coconut oil deeply moisturizes.
For Oily Scalp
Ingredients:
3 tbsp aloe vera gel
1 tbsp lemon juice
How to use: Mix and apply to scalp, leave for 15 minutes, rinse.
Why it works: Aloe soothes irritation, lemon balances oil production.
Gentle Face Scrubs
For Sensitive Skin
Ingredients:
2 tbsp oatmeal (finely ground)
1 tbsp yogurt (unsweetened)
1 tsp honey
How to use: Combine ingredients, gently massage on damp skin for 1–2 minutes, rinse.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp coffee grounds
1 tbsp olive oil
How to use: Mix, scrub gently in circular motions, rinse.
Hydrating Face Masks
For Dry Skin
Ingredients:
½ ripe avocado
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp olive oil
How to use: Mash avocado, mix in honey and oil, apply for 15 minutes, rinse.

For Acne-Prone Skin
Ingredients:
2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
1 tsp turmeric powder
How to use: Mix, apply for 10 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.
Hair & Skin Type Recommendations
Dry Skin/Hair: Use ingredients like avocado, coconut oil, honey, banana, and shea butter.
Oily Skin/Hair: Choose aloe vera, lemon, clay, yogurt, and green tea.
Sensitive Skin: Stick to oatmeal, chamomile, honey, and cucumber.
Damaged Hair: Opt for eggs, olive oil, banana, and castor oil.
Final Tip:
Always do a patch test before trying new recipes — even natural ingredients can cause irritation for some people.
